The Longest Day

Pretty hard to bitch about everyone's deafening silence as they wait to see what each other says about the "best data yet", without posting my own take.

Someone should have at least suggested that the moon is NOT made of the same material as Comet Tempel 1. Especially when he claimed that Apollo core samples proved it wasn't from around here in the first place...

Yeah, I'm looking at you Richard.

Long day. Waited for nothing. Twice.

“Stay tuned”

My Name is Michael Sterling, and I would have had a skywriter up as soon as the skies cleared over New Orleans, so that the victims of Katrina would have known that "HELP IS ON THE WAY".

Hoagland IS an asshole, and Noory is even worse!

I guess we'll have to wait to hear about the hyper-dimensional awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to Obama until "next week"

Your artwork is exquisite.

LCROSS kicks up SODIUM?

The dynamic lunar exosphere: clues from sodium:

"The distribution of sodium about the Moon is highly non-thermal, implying contributions from the energetic sources: photon- stimulated desorption, impact vaporization, and ion sputtering."

Must have heated up in that crater! Probably a big mud puddle now.

Noory IS worse.

As for Hoagland, he'd make a good pirate. I wouldn't kick him off the TEOTWAWKI, even though I've always seen him as Dr. Carrington in the 1951 "The Thing"; more trouble than he may be worth, but ultimately worthy of the benefit of the doubt, and a Hero's send-off if he finally gets in over his head. An eyepatch does wonders for anybody, and as the only CANDIDATE prepared to smoke hash with Osama as the first true step in stopping (too late!) the War On Terror, I suggest all of Richard's critics could only benefit from sharing a "stogie" with him.

MORE IMPORTANT HOWEVER, is how LCROSS speaks to DISCLOSURE & how secrets CAN be kept.

As I watched the NASA footage, I couldn't help thinking that I (or any 10 other ABELDOGS I know) could have produced that Z-Axis move in our sleep. Then to hear that it would take two weeks to figure out what happened? Back to sleep America!

Thank God for RCH. He's probably the only person able to find out what really happened, but If he HAD "the goods" we would STILL have had to wait until Punnett got off the air. Two days gone. Think there's a contract that prohibits anyone but Noory from having Hoagland on? The last time Art Bell really spoke to him was when Bell insisted he could find better Martian artifacts around Pahrump.

OLD NEWS. Better than NO NEWS?

If Richard comes back loaded for bear, it'll just prove that even better than lighting a candle rather than cursing the darkness, is lighting a fire under someone's ass.

Thanks for the compliment. Don't worry about me and Richard. He never gives me credit for anything, so I doubt he'll say my name one way or the other.

So I heard.

Let's hope he tells us:

1/ how thick the lunar atmosphere is - 1 mile?, 1 yard? 1 inch? less?

2/ If the Apollo astronauts didn't discover same because THEY WERE'NT LOOKING FOR IT (his original position), or because it's only been created since we "left"?

3/ Did LCROSS smash through the previous civilization's "glass ceiling"?

I'll be listening...

What a tangled web they weave with this one.

Thanks for the links - trying to share this to others!

Oh Yeah ;-)

It's taken two weeks, Art Bell, and his guest tonight; Dr. Stephen Rorke, to address any of the LCROSS questions.

I always think of Hoagland as the Hal Holbrook character in CAPRICORN ONE.

Too bad CAPRICORN TWO won't start at the cemetery with Kelloway doing some very fast thinking that ultimately becomes the sequel's DISCLOSURE EVENT (just as false?) plot. As for Richard, I won't begrudge him his smile when the cameras finally swing and point in the right direction.
