The Hollow Prize

“You know very well, and the stupid Americans know equally well, that we control their government, irrespective of who sits in the White House. You see, I know it and you know it that no American president can be in a position to challenge us even if we do the unthinkable. What can they (Americans) do to us? We control congress, we control the media, we control show biz, and we control everything in America. In America you can criticize God, but you can’t criticize Israel.”

The real reason the 2nd attack BUSH/CHENEY “protected” us from is just around the corner.

Ask yourself these two questions UNASKED BY EVERYONE from Hannity to Maddow (sorry Rach). If BUSH/CHENEY gained the most from there NOT being a "mass-casualty attack" on their watch, who is more invested than them in one happening now that will prove them blameless and right all along?

If Rush Limbaugh wants the President to fail, what does Dick Cheney have in mind for the United States Of Obama?

“Economic crises have been produced by us for the goyim by no other means than the withdrawal of money from circulation.”

Protocols of Zion -20

My Name is Michael Sterling, and I hope I've stated the truly unthinkable simply enough. Like WTC7 before it, someone has assigned the United States the same fate with the same two words. PULL IT!

Nice Name.

Well...

I once posted an anonymous comment from my own computer so that anyone anal enough to bellow in triumph at having discovered same would, in fact, prove all the other anonymous comments NOT from my computer, valid.

Pirate.

The other thing that has always bothered me is listing a "favorite book" in my profile I've yet to read. I saw Martha Stout talking about "The Paranoia Switch" on BookTV (NOT an oxymoron), and in keeping with my success in getting "The Shock Doctrine", and "The End Of America" into my local library BEFORE checking them out and reading them, The Paranoia Switch has been on order for over a year - with me as the sole patron at the top of a very short waiting list. Everytime I go to return something, I check, and the puzzled Librarian re-requests it assuring me I'll be the first to know. Having finally deciding to check out "Atlas Shrugged" (on the Psionic Guard reading list), I'm hoping Martha's book will be there when I return Ayn's.

Other than those two transgressions, I'd also have to admit that posting all this information, and taking the stands that became the iParty Blog and the sites it leads to, feels a lot like John Denver challenging George Burns to prove he's God by making it rain, and then having to drive around soaked in his car's interior where the requested downpour is confined... because God didn't want to ruin everyone else's day.

Stubborn me, however, can't imagine not having done so.

God and I are getting along just fine.

Of course, there's always the Lovecraft quote I used on the Planetary Mysteries Antarctica page: "I am forced into speech because men of science have refused to follow my advice without knowing why. It is all together against my will that I tell my reasons for opposing the contemplated invasion of Antarctica... with it's vast fossil hunt and it's wholesale boring, and melting of the ancient ice caps.

And I am the more reluctant because my warning may be in vain."

We may finally have arrived at the Mountains Of Madness, only to discover that they've been the border of The Lands Beyond all along.

Yep, that about covers it.

What a month THAT was! Forgot my oldest Daughter's birthday for the first time, only to find myself posting this on the day my youngest one was born.

"Did you really think we wanted those laws to be observed?" said Dr. Ferris. We want them broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against --- then you'll know that this is not the age for beautiful gestures. We're after power and we mean it. You fellows were pikers, but we know the real trick, and you'd better get wise to it.There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kinds of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted --- and you create a nation of law-breakers --- and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system Mr. Rearden, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be easier to deal with."

They had not heard the text of Directive 10-289, but they knew what it would contain. They had known it for a long time, in that manner which consisted of keeping secrets from oneself and leaving knowledge untranslated into words. And, by the same method, they now wished it were possible for them not to hear the words of the directive. It was to avoid moments such as this that all the complex twistings of their minds had been devised.
They wished the directive to go into effect. They wished it could be put into effect with words, so that that they would not have to know that what they were doing was what it was. Nobody had ever announced that Directive 10-289 was the final goal of his efforts. Yet for generations past, men had worked to make it possible, and for months past, every provision of it had been prepared for by countless speeches, articles, sermons, editorials --- by purposeful voices that screamed with anger if anyone named their purpose.
"The picture now is this," said Wesley Mouch. "The economic condition of the country was better the year before last than it was last year, and last year it was better than it is at present. It's obvious that we would not be able to survive another year of the same progression. Therefore, our sole objective must now be to hold the line. To stand still in order to catch our stride To acheive total stability. Freedom has been given a chance and has failed. Therefore, more stringent controls are necessary. Since men are unable to and unwilling to solve their problems voluntarily, they must be forced to do it." He paused, picked up the sheet of paper, then added in a less formal tone of voice, "Hell, what it comes down to is that we can manage to exist as and where we are, but we can't afford to move! So we've got to stand still. We've got to stand still. We've got to make those bastards stand still!"

"The measure had been kept secret in order to avoid debate and reactionary opposition."

You listening Girls?

Ayn Rand wrote these lines in 1957, and I will thank he who had read them before me, and all that will read them after us --- especially all those teen-age Dagny Taggarts out there --- by paraphrasing her own highest compliment. I was 17 once, about the time I heard: "TURN ON, TUNE IN, DROP OUT", and I have a few beautiful gestures left: "I trust that no one will tell me that such men as I write about don't exist. That this blog has been written --- published --- and linked to --- is proof that they do"

Let the record show, that one week after finishing "ATLAS SHRUGGED", my local library emailed me that "THE PARANOIA SWITCH" had arrived.

Martha Stout's opening premise that people have trouble remembering what they were doing on September 10th, 2001, is not nearly as troubling as the people I've noticed that don't remember that the first part of the bail-out (the Paulsen part) occurred BEFORE Barack Obama was sworn in.

On George W. Bush's watch.

I'm not sure what that has to do with limbic resonance, or if we're seeing a totally new form of "thrown switch" at work - Perhaps the "willful Ignorance" Obama himself warned us about - but I think it is the far scarier fact of our time, unless the DTV TRANSFER was worse than even I thought.

I passed on putting "Who is John Galt?" under a picture of Osama, but as I've said before, if Bin Laden is ever captured, he should be given $20, and dropped off in Times Square to see if he still wants to see the lights of New York "go out".

I had been thinking of the obvious post-Ayn bumper sticker which is joined here by two personal favorites from a time when Atlas could be seen everywhere.

CHECK.
QUESTION.
PLAN!

I'll get back to you about Martha.

Some "Final Episode" thoughts.

When I said: "We'll need a War-Time President - We'll need a War - We'll need a reason for the War", I was pointing to the origin of such a tactic. Now, one can easily see the reason for such a strategy - to set up the next guy.

Imagine those who during the last eight years said: "We can't do what the Nazis did", now saying: "Well, we can't do what the Bush administration did".

The Neophobe goal remains the same, as does the Neophile defense against it: "The fear of death, is the beginning of slavery."

There's more than one way to immanentize an eschaton.
