Krypton (pronounced, KRIP-ton; from Greek: kryptos “the hidden one” / Atomic Number 36>9)

If there had been an equivalent to FOX NEWS, MSNBC, or CNN on Krypton, would the last act of the inhabitants of that doomed planet been to watch the results of the latest agenda-biased polls commissioned to measure their belief in the danger they were in, as their planet exploded beneath them?

Would Jor-El have been pilloried or applauded, slandered or celebrated as his body language was studied on the stage-directed "Nightly News"? Or would he simply have disappeared into a black program designed to save the sons of the hidden elite and not just his own.

Could one Party who lost their grip on power so completely obstruct those that had won, such that the planet itself, and all on it, suffered from the constant demoralizing friction between the two? Until the Galaxy, and all in it, sighed "good riddance" when the combatants were consumed by a slurry of confusion, doubt, and Hate - their burned-out cinder consigned to the cosmic ash heap of history.

I once spotted a new paperback entitled "KRYPTON", and the thought that someone had retold the destruction of that fictional planet in such a way as to be indistinguishable from the world we live in, haunted me (for reasons some of you have already guessed) until I found it again, only to realize it was just a re-telling of the same old story.

Seems I'm going to have to write the new story myself, or more accurately, finish IT.


Bizzarro World / Random Notes (Sun Stands Still)

emails are hacked that implicate scientists in faking data relating to climate change. Millions of previously “lost” emails are “discovered” pertaining to activities of the Bush White House. In all the coverage of the leaked information, no attention or coverage is directed to those who did the hacking, yet the United States is intent on extraditing a young brit - who hacked defense department databases looking for UFO evidence - even if it kills him. All he did was discover USN files that mentioned Non-Terrestrial Officers.

Attendance at “Tea-Party” protests continues to increase, even when those figures are proven wrong, and some of the footage edited to indicate the success of the rallies, while thousands protesting the blackmail/financing of the NWO in Nopenhagen go unnoticed.

Paradigm Slip - Republican Senator (DIRTY 30?) bragging about stalling Healthcare: “I think Pelosi is going to have to swallow the whole thing.”

Post-Palin Cable TV news coverage has devolved into personality contests such that any “news” is watched through the filter of the commentator, whose views and style are more important than any factual content. Views and style that have sunk to name-calling by all. Identification that cancels out information in favor of insult with national injury the result. Where once a presidential candidate was booed during the TWO MINUTES HATE, now it's Rachel Maddow.

Booed. RACHEL MADDOW. I told her not to chuckle*.

December 16 (16>7; the true December 7th?): Olbermann fires the NOT heard around the world by telling POTUS (on record as believing -- insisting -- that torture is an ordinary, “foreseeable consequence” of military detention of all those who are arbitrarily declared “suspected enemy combatants”, AND Sean Hannity, that HE WILL NOT purchase MANDATORY health insurance that does not have a public option or Medicare buy-in. Almost enough to forgive his continued name-calling (Orly-Taitz Limbaugh?) and “Birther” slurs. Almost.

Well, it is Christmas. Almost.
