The Sum of All Hopes
"We must resist because we claim no partnership in war crimes, genocide, torture, or crimes against humanity. We claim no complicity in crimes against the American people."
Resistance may prove to be futile during this time of circumvential evidence and denialism, but not since the murder of Jesus have we had the opportunity to attain a state of grace that separates us from those with the hammers and bloody nails in their hands. Before there were Christians, there were human beings on that street millenia ago, that had nothing to do with the death of one of their own.
As far as the rest of the world knows, Americans are still looking the other way. What did you do today to prove them wrong?
What actions has the President; having washed his hands of the Iraq War, now initiated with your tacit approval?
Faced with thousands of years of conditioning that somehow has convinced many that there is NO WAY that they are "The Son Of God", the question facing us tonight is not a hypothetical "What Would Jesus Do?"; discussed endlessly in groups where everyone can agree on the same circular, self-protecting answer. It is one we have all asked ourselves.
What Can You Do?
You can claim no partnership in war crimes, genocide, torture, or crimes against humanity. You can claim no complicity in crimes against the American people.
If you can do that, the United States, and those that founded it, will thank you for your service.
I will do it with you. We will do it together.
